We are looking for a part-time caretaker to work at Chesterfield’s Market Hall.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work flexibly, be pro-active and efficient, and have a good understanding of the Health & Safety requirements of the Market Hall. You will also be responsible for maintaining good relationships with both tenants and shoppers.
Duties include waste management, toilet cleaning, the setting out of meeting rooms, contractor liaison, cleaning of the mall and other areas around the building, security, key holding and call out duties along with the ability to carry out minor repairs.
The Market Hall opens to tenants from 7am to 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday, as such shift work is involved. Sunday and Bank Holiday working is occasionally required, and you may be required to work at other Council sites. Initially this will be a 12-month fixed term contract.
Chesterfield Borough Council is an excellent employer with rewarding conditions of service, which include generous leave entitlement and sick pay, flexible and agile working, progressive HR policies, access to the local government pension scheme and discounted leisure membership.
