Due to internal promotion, Subsea7 have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Senior Buyer to join our UK & Global IRM Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. This role will be based at our office in Westhill, Aberdeen on a full-time, staff basis.

The UK & Global IRM department is responsible for delivering a diverse range of fully integrated SURF and IRM solutions to project. We have extensive capability in short-term to major EPCI projects, covering early engagement, DSV, pipelay, bundles and emerging energy projects (field electrification, floating wind, CCS, and hydrogen) and decarbonisation.

As a Senior Buyer you will be part of the SCM team and be responsible for sourcing, supplier management, procurement and expediting.



What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role supporting offshore & onshore operations and live tenders, as well as indirect services such as facilities, global IT, and other corporate functions.



Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Source competitive bids from suppliers for materials, rentals and services that meet specification, quality, budgetary and schedule requirements.
Negotiate and award commitments with suppliers ensuring that the most favourable terms of contract are obtained.
Capitalise from lessons learned and ensure SCM activities are performed in consideration of best practice, striving to mitigate risk and consistent promotion of Company core values.
Ensure compliance with all Supply Chain policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers including performing sites visits.
Assist with the implementation and conduct of the operational elements of the Supply Chain strategy and support the local SCM specific activities.
Support the development of the local Supply Chain Function through guidance and coaching to more junior members of the team.


What experience would we like you to have?

Relevant experience level in a procurement-based role is desirable, though consideration can be given to those with associated commercial experience in a different role.
Good IT skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 applications. Experience within SAP ECC / SAP S4 Hana and SAP Ariba would be desirable.
Good analytical skills and a knowledge and understanding of business analysis and planning.
Proven ability to work on own initiative, effectively evaluate, organise and prioritise your own workload.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external.
Confident networking with an effective ability to negotiate and influence.
Numeric, with the ability to work with detail and accuracy.
Mentoring / Coaching experience would be desirable but is not essential.
