Crynodeb

You will be designing and creating engaging, appropriate and accessible content for our internal audiences which is shown in the right place and in the best format. Your excellent creative design skills coupled with your understanding of how to manipulate the software will influence internal audiences to engage with corporate policies and processes. You will have a strong understanding of how to enable those at all levels to develop the knowledge and skills they need to do their job successfully. Our organisation is full of busy staff, line managers and leaders - your content will help them understand and make use of people policies and processes that are vital to their role and the effectiveness of the organisation as a whole. Your work might include:

Creating new and engaging content for our internal audiences in a variety of formats such as slides, infographics, and video
Owning some of our key products including the HR intranet portal - including content development, management, publishing, editing and removal
Acting as a consultant with expertise in good and accessible content design, keeping on top of developments and sharing knowledge
Building strong relationships across the internal communications teams, HR teams and strategy teams to ensure alignment of style and messaging
Working with colleagues in the Digital Data and Technology team to build wider understanding of user-centred design, (end-to-end product/service delivery (discovery, research and testing phases)
Leading and contributing to a range of projects across the wider directorate and department - recent work includes the delivery of a security portal and creation of video relating to some of our key policies
Person specification
The ideal candidate would have the following key skills and experience.

Essential requirements:

Ability to design engaging materials, infographics and video using a variety of formats.
Experience of translating complex or legal guidance into simple, user focused content.
Understanding of how to engage and influence internal audiences in change programmes using design.
Ability to write and advocate for simple but compelling content.
Understanding of accessibility issues, and how to design inclusive content.
Desirable skills:

Good Change and Project Management skills.
A passion for how incorporating good, simple and elegant design can simplify processes and policies for audiences.
Understanding of GDS content design principles and the GOV.UK style guide.

The session will be an opportunity to hear more about the role, the team and wider directorate and the department. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
