Central Work Shop Operations Assistant£14.28 per hour We have a permanent vacancy for a Central Work Shop (CWS) Operations Assistant within the FM Contract at Stanlow reporting to the Labour Manager.
The role will be to support the 14forty FM Support Services in delivering the requirements as set out by our client in a safe and efficient manner. The role will also include Industrial Labour and Ad-Hoc Support to emergent site projects and requirements.
Duties include:
  • To provide routine, day-to-day support to CWS under the direction and supervision of the CWS Supervisor
  • Compliance with control measures identified on the Clearance Note, Standard Control Sheets and client Risk Assessments and Method Statement.
  • Obtaining the relevant PPE for the task as identified on the above documents
  • Liaising with client’s representative before commencing work to ascertain work requirements and issues on the plant
  • Informing the client and Labour Planner of any activities not covered under the provided documentation
  • Undertaking a 4 What’s assessment prior to commencing work
  • General FLT duties to load / unload vehicles, empty waste skips etc. Undertaking and recording FLT inspection prior to use and reporting any defects to clients representative
  • Ensuring all areas are kept clean and tidy in line with client housekeeping schedule
  • Empty various waste skips into central skips for disposal
  • Use of Overhead Electric Travelling Crane to move loads
  • Gas Testing duties as required
  • Use, cleaning, and maintenance of Aqua blasting machine
  • Use of jetting machine to clean components and works yard area
  • Use clean and maintain Grit Blast machine
  • Hot oil baths
  • Attend weekly standstill meetings

  • Good Health & Safety Compliance, along with good values & behaviours
  • Confined Space trained / H2S Awareness trained / Escape Set trained / Asbestos awareness / COSHH awareness / Manual handling awareness / behavioural safety awareness
  • Undertaking a 4 What’s risk assessment prior to commencing work and attend safety related meetings, including promoting “Safety Signals” and collecting forms from the workforce
  • Correctly using work equipment, personal protective equipment in accordance with training and instructions provided
  • Report HSE hazards, accidents, incidents, illness, and diseases to your line Supervisor including all accidents and near misses
Training Requirements
  • To make sure you are aware of, and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, health and safety
  • Safety Passport, SCATS, CCNSG etc.
  • FLT Operators licence
  • Overhead Electric Travelling Crane
  • Simple Rigging & Slinging
  • Gas testing
  • Use of CWS - LP Jetting machine, Aqua Blast /Grit Blast machine and Hot Oil Bath.
