Responsibilities
The EHO Food Inspection officer will need to be food safety competent with reference to Chapter 3.4 of the Food Law Code of Practice.
Qualification requirements
- Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or CIEH
- Higher Certificate in Official Control awarded by the Scottish Food Safety Officers Registration Board (SFSORB)
- A Certificate of Registration awarded by the EHRB to practice as an Environmental Health Practitioner
- A Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the EHRB or the REHIS
- Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control (APC) awarded by CIEH
- Degree in Environmental Health
- Masters Degree in Environmental Health
- Environmental Health Practitioner (Integrated Degree) Apprenticeship
- We pay mileage in addition to the hourly rate
- There is no option for hybrid working, all hours need to be in district
- The working days are flexible
- Some reactive work but mostly inspecting C & D's
- An opportunity to undertake APHA training & CPD to qualify as an FCCO for Export Health
Certificates
- Mobile solution using Merlin software on a tablet enables report writing and auto database backfill
- Inspector will need to provide PPE and food probe/IRT thermometer.
- Car availability is essential for this role as we are predominantly a rural AONB.
