Crynodeb

The Urology Specialist Nursing team has an exciting opportunity to recruit a motivated & enthusiastic individual to the role of Urology Nurse Specialist.

There will be a strong development component to this role so training will be provided in line with the needs of the post-holder and changing demands of the service. Activities will include assessment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), urodynamic studies and the management of common bladder conditions. The main base for this vacancy is Malton, but the postholder will have a requirement to deliver clinical activity at Scarborough, Bridlington and York on a regular basis or as service needs require.

Much of your work will take place at the Urology Diagnostic Centre at Malton Hospital but you will also care for patients in Scarborough and, if required, at Bridlington and other hospital sites.

You will join our highly motivated, friendly and supportive specialist nursing team to deliver effective, timely and person-centred care for patients referred to urology with LUTS and continence issues.

The successful candidate should have an interest in urology and be an efficient and effective communicator with all staff, patients, and visitors. They will be supported to develop their knowledge and skills under the direction of the Urology Lead Nurse and in conjunction with the Urology Consultants and existing Urology Specialist Nurses. They should also be able to identify and respond to patient queries and issues in a sensitive and competent manner. Some experience (or understanding) of urological and continence nursing is desirable but a keen willingness to learn is essential.

We look forward to receiving your application.
