A Vacancy at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Interim Deputy Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control for Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) will be responsible with other members of the IPC team in preventing and controlling infection across Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) in the acute hospital setting, satellite units and to work collaboratively with Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire (BOB) integrated care system (ICS).
The Interim Deputy Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control for IPC will promote, influence, and develop knowledge in respect of infection control practice through networks of education and training, to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infections.
The Interim Deputy Lead Nurse for IPC will, in conjunction with the Director and Deputy Directors of Infection Prevention and Control, provide operational leadership of IPC and service delivery, implementing and delivering the IPC annual plan.
The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making. They will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of the nursing and administrative staff in the IPC team and will deputise for the lead nurse as required.
The post holder will need to be highly visible, an exemplar role model for IPC and be an effective communicator as this role is a collaborative one, working with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Infection Prevention and Control is at the top of the agenda at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We currently have an opportunity for an interim band 8A IPC registered nurse/healthcare practitioner to come and work in an established and forward-thinking team. We are looking for someone who firmly believes in improving safety for patients and staff. The role will challenge and develop the many skills you already have whilst creating and identifying a new set.
Covering four hospital sites across Oxfordshire with a huge range of specialties, the scope of learning is vast. The successful applicant will have the opportunity for developing the team and supporting the Acting Lead Nurse.
