Are you a conscientious and energetic individual who would relish the opportunity to work as part of a team?
Our science technicians are dedicated to the support of teaching staff and take great satisfaction from working in a school environment as a crucial element of our strong teaching team.
Reporting directly to the Senior Technician, you will assist in the preparation of science practical resources to engage students; keep the department fully equipped and adhere to our high Health and Safety standards. Training will be provided where necessary and technicians enjoy support from knowledgeable and enthusiastic teaching staff.
You will join our enthusiastic and collaborative Science department, supporting teaching across all Key Stages. Students follow AQA GCSE Science or Separate Sciences at KS4, many of whom progress to A Level in Sixth Form.
The Science department has excellent resources: Nine well equipped laboratories, each with an interactive whiteboard and advanced wireless network enabling all students to work on their iPads. Other specialist areas within the department include an orchid propagation lab, several greenhouses, one central prep room, and a science work room.
This post includes the equivalent of a day a week for responsibilities related to the Orchid Project. Further information in relation to this responsibility is detailed in the Job Description attached.
