About the team
Things are changing in SEND for Hertfordshire County Council. We are making SEND everyone's business.

The Resolution and Reconciliation team is an established dynamic team that works at a fast pace and interacts on a daily basis with different stakeholders.

About the role
Do you want to make a positive impact and be part of that change? We’re investing our statutory SEND services and are looking for a SEND Resolution and Reconciliation Officer to support complaint processes effectively.

You’ll work collaboratively with professionals across schools, settings, SEND service colleagues and partners to coordinate tribunal, mediation and other complaint processes and requests.

This includes maintaining accurate oversight and records relating to disputes, and in the case of Tribunals preparing and submitting documents and other materials to a clear brief using established formats and specialised software.

The role contributes to the development of policy, procedures, and provision for children with SEND, which includes maintaining an up-to-date knowledge relating to SEN casework, changes to national legislation and departmental policies, and supporting induction/training and support to all team members.

About you
Essential:

Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Excellent communication skills
Competent administrative and IT skills
Ability to plan and organise work to produce a high level of output to quality standards.
Ability to exchange varied information with a range of audiences.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable:

Experience of specialist software, including EHM.
Ability to perform analysis, manipulation and interpretation of data.
Experience of running and presenting standard reports
Experience of administrative support in relation to appeals
We have over 11,000 children and young people in Hertfordshire with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and are really making SEND everybody’s business. In return, you’ll have opportunities to work with a passionate team, access to continuous learning and development, and progression opportunities.

The Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review teams are responsible for delivering high quality casework in line with the statutory requirements in the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014. Statutory responsibilities include coordinating multi-agency assessments of education, health and care needs and ensuring that Education, Health and Care Plans are up to date and reflect the needs of the child and the provision they require.

This is an opportunity to join the Resolution and Reconciliation team to support in the resolution of disputes. There are excellent career progression opportunities within the team.
