Summary


We are delighted to be recruiting Business Managers to join Health Innovation Manchester (HInM). If you are a highly proactive and organised individual who enjoys problem solving on several different things at once and has experience of writing presentations and papers on complex issues, managing senior stakeholders, managing effective governance and designing business processes – we’d love to hear from you!

Working as part of the HInM Corporate Office, the successful candidate will be driving forward our organisational priorities outlined in our 2024 – 2027 Strategy. TheBusinessManagerhasapivotalrole in working with Executive Directorsto deliver on strategic business priorities on behalf of Health Innovation Manchester.



The postholder will provide specialist knowledge and expertise in system engagement, strategy development, business planningand governance, withadeepunderstandingof theinnovation landscapeacross GM and nationally.



They will oversee the effective management and planning of a range of strategic projects, whilst ensuringactivitiesand servicesareplannedandmanagedeffectively toensure successfuldelivery. They will also design and implement appropriate systems and processes to capture and report on performance data and assurance.



The Business Manager will be politically astute, a problem solver, with effective communication and influencing skills,andhastheabilitytotranslate conceptualorcomplexinformation intoasimpleand understandable design or narrative that can be understood by a broad range of stakeholders.



With the ability to work independently and collaboratively at all levels, they will be able to work quicklyin responsetochanging demandsandmultiplepriorities,andoperate in anagilemanner.

Businessplanning development:

Provide strategicand insightfulbusinessmanagementapproaches,supportingorganisationaland system-wide strategies and delivery against corporate objectives.

Ensuredeliveryofprioritiessetout in the HInMStrategy andBusinessPlans by providing coordination across HInM’s functions to achieve shared objectives, developing joint solutions andworkplans.


Governanceandsystemengagement

Manageand co-ordinatea fullrange of stakeholdermeetingsandeventsasrequired,including managing governance on behalf of the GM ICS and with HInM’s industry partners.

Provide and receive highly sensitive, or contentious information and deliver such communications to a wide range of audiences using tact and diplomacy in management of this informationinordertoovercomeresistanceand achieve co-operationandagreementorprovide reassurance. This includes information for presentation to Board Committees, understanding decisions taken and providing feedback.

Businesssupport

Work closely with HInM integrated functions,including runningteammeetings,compiling,and trackingprogressagainstjointworkplans and addressing issues that arise.

Providetimelyandaccuratewritten reporting,with informationpresented ina suitableformat for the relevant audience. To contribute to detailed reports offering specialist advice.

Financialmanagement


Reviewandmonitortheoperationalbudgets in termsofexpenditureanddevelop financial projections, reporting to the Head of Business Planning.

Use financialsystemstomanage invoices,purchase ordersandpaymentsandkeepeffective financial records and ensure that these are fully understood across teams with accurate input received on forecasts.
