As Assistant Planning and Investment Manager, you will join the Rail Services Group, who plays a crucial role in developing and delivering railway enhancements. You will contribute to a diverse range of projects in an ever evolving and exciting environment.

Within this role your responsibilities will include streamlining processes and tools related to risk management, milestone tracking, lesson management, and governance. You will also manage a programme board, organising and facilitating meetings to ensure high-quality information is provided to board members and that minutes and actions are accurately recorded.

Utilising your positive interpersonal skills, you will regularly engage with delivery bodies, developing effective working relationships. Therefore, enabling you to ensure that the right information is available at the right time to effectively monitor development and delivery.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating risk, milestone and lessons management, and arrangements for governance and decision-making.
  • Working with delivery bodies to ensure that timely information is available, and leading on regular reporting for projects managed by the team.
  • Advising and briefing senior officials and Ministers within the Department and providing accurate, concise, credible and timely responses to Parliamentary Questions and official correspondence.
  • Providing support to the team in action tracking.
