Are you empowered by being able to see and feel positive change?
We are looking for people like you, who share the same care, support, and dedication as we do.

Here in Suffolk, we are proud to have created an environment where social workers can achieve the outcomes, they came into the profession to do.
We were recognised as one of leading social work authorities in the UK, whose children’s services are rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, "Services for children are of an exceptionally high standard. They are child-focused and make a positive difference to children's lives." (Ofsted, 2019). We have a well embedded practice framework to enable meaningful family focused help. ‘Signs of Safety’ enables us to do this respectfully and in collaboration with all the families, colleagues, and organisations we are working with.

Your role and responsibilities
- Undertaking direct work with children with a plan for adoption and other permanence outcomes. You will work with all professionals around the child to maximise the success of the transition to an alternative permanent arrangement before, during and after the move.
- Presenting training to professionals and families wanting to understand the impact for their child of their early lives along with the effects of development trauma, and how children can be supported now and into the future.
- To demonstrate innovative practice to match our ambition to positively affect outcomes for all vulnerable children.
- A creative social worker, skilled in placement planning and with an ability to meet the challenges, your focus on high quality service provision will promote sustainable changes for children.
- Flexible and have a passion to further build and develop on our success is key in supporting a strong ethos of performance and development across the service.

What you will need
- A relevant social work qualification.
- Social Work England registration is essential.
You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (docx). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.

The team
- Provides a county wider service to meet the needs of children.
- Works directly with children that have been adopted, under a special guardianship order, permanent fostering and link care. This role also works closely with the stage 2 adoption assessment team as they link and match children for adoption.
- We are a busy, friendly and highly supportive team with lots of creativity and passion in the work we do to support children and families.

Empowering Everyone
We are big believers in potential, possibility and the power of different ideas. We are always searching for ways to encourage, respect and enable everyone to be the best they can be. We want to represent the diverse communities we serve. We welcome applications from all individuals, especially those from groups that are currently underrepresented in the organisation, as shown in our Workforce Equality Report (suffolkjobsdirect.org)
