Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly moving field of cancer research. We are looking for a self-motivated registered nurse/clinical research practitioner (CRP) to work on late phase clinical and translational research studies within the Aerodigestive, Hepatobiliary and Head & Neck team (AD/HPB/HN team). You will provide care for research patients and will manage, with support, the administration and day to day running of studies, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

Previous oncology and/or clinical trials experience is essential. Your time will be divided between office based work and outpatient clinics along with specialist areas involved in facilitating clinical and translational trials. This role will work in both investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and translational research but with a specific focus on building our translational portfolio. You will work autonomously, as well as part of a team and will need the ability to work in a self-directed, flexible and collaborative manner.

The AD/HPB/HN team is a multi-disciplinary group of doctors, nurses/CRP’s and data mangers led by Dr Bristi Basu and it is part of the Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre (CCTC). You will have the opportunity to work with world class professionals in cutting edge cancer therapy development.

The Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner will be a member of the Cambridge Cancer Trials Team. You will work closely with the health care teams associated with the multidisciplinary team. The key responsibilities are to help to identify patients eligible for clinical trials; provide information and support for patients entering clinical trials; co- ordinate trial patient treatment, assessment, follow-up and data collection according to specific clinical trial protocols. This will include close liaison with relevant staff of departments including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, pharmacy, radiology, outpatients and in- patients, Research & Development and Ethics departments.
