Crynodeb
Steelcraft manufactures and fits a range of mild steel architectural metalwork (railings, gates, balconies and stair balustrade) plus industrial and sheet metal fabrications. They also sell a range of standard products nationally via their e-commerce website “Forjj”.
Installation staff work in crews of 2 or 3. We are looking to appoint a new skilled installer / crew leader. You should be an experienced or time-served installer capable of installing the products listed above. Experience any of the following fields would be appropriate: fencing, steel erection, balustrade fitting. A candidate with experience in stainless steel (including TIG welding & polishing) would be of interest but these skills are not essential.
You would be expected to carry out a safe, high quality installation with the effective supervision of your support labour. You will be expected to communicate with the rest of the team for both planning and progress tracking, as well as liaising with client site management and other trades during the course of installation. Install teams are also the last line of defence in our quality process, and are expected to ensure a high-quality finished product is handed over to the customer. You will have a keen eye for detail, a quality focus, and good communication skills.
Role includes:
• Following engineering drawings and method statements.
• Operating power tools and hand tools.
• Manual handling and work at height
Experience & Skill Requirements:
• Relevant Installation Experience - essential
• Ability to interpret CAD drawings – essential
• Full, clean driving licence – highly advantageous
• SMAW (stick) welding - highly advantageous
• TIG Welding - advantageous
• CSCS card – will be provided if not already held
• Further specialist training such as SSSTS, PASMA, IPAF etc. – advantageous but will be supplied where not already covered.
