This role provides the opportunity to start a career in GIS with a valued-led organisation, and the successful candidate will be supported to achieve a post graduate qualification in Geographic Data Science.

Do you have a passion for GIS and for using maps to deliver operational excellence?

We are looking for a GIS Graduate with excellent technical, analytical and communication skills that can deliver a high standard of customer service, and who would thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Upon joining L&Q’s GIS Team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside L&Q’s GIS Analyst and GIS Technician to make sure our suite of online and PDF maps is kept up to date and accurately reflects our stock portfolio. You’ll also work with our diverse, internal stakeholder group to ascertain requirements for new cartographic outputs, producing maps, and creating new spatial data sets, which support the delivery of an effective and efficient service to our residents.

You will be the first point of contact for colleagues responding effectively to queries, providing guidance, training, and GI subject matter expertise, complete regular updates of established web map layers, research, and source reputable datasets to develop new web map layers which enable spatial insight to support data-based decision-making across the organisation.

As you will be joining the GIS Team at an exciting time, you will support the development of L&Q’s GI systems, improving, and maintaining GIS data quality, and implementing new GIS tools to ensure continuous improvement of GI processes.

Suitable candidates will hold a dynamic, solution focused approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.

Knowledge of SQL scripting, Power Bi or spatial database administration would be an advantage.

To be considered for this role candidates should be able to demonstrate:

A GIS related degree; or equivalent qualification.
Intermediate Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate, link and update complex data sets accurately.
Ability to create new cartographic outputs and complete spatial analysis.
Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own workload effectively.
A commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

If you are interested in this role and have the experience required, then apply without delay!

We are a multi-site organisation, so some roles may require occasional travel between offices, but expenses will be covered.

At the foundation of everything that we do are our corporate values and associated behaviours. Our organisational behavioural framework outlines the core expectations of all employees, which should be demonstrated at all times when representing L&Q.

More information about L&Q’s values can be found on our website and a copy of our behavioural framework can be provided on request.

In addition to our support and training, the successful candidate will have access to our full suite of benefits including 28 days holiday rising to 31 days with length of service, excellent Pension scheme, an employee assistance programme and non-contributory life assurance.

We are committed to supporting your work-life balance and recognise the changing demands and circumstances in life. Please let us know during the recruitment process if you’re interested in part time working or job sharing. In addition, should your circumstances change once you have joined L&Q, you can also request flexible working arrangements, e.g. a change to working hours - if it’s feasible then we’ll make it happen.
