Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and responsible Fleet Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles, ensuring they are always driven in a safe and economical manner. Flexibility in working hours and locations is essential, as collection and delivery may extend beyond normal working hours. This role is crucial in maintaining the operational efficiency of our vehicle fleet, including A&E Double Staffed Ambulances.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely collect and deliver Trust vehicles between Trust sites and external locations.
Undertake extended road tests of vehicles post-repair to ensure they are ready for service.
Perform vehicle checks to ensure legal compliance and operational readiness.
Communicate vehicle-specific information to internal and external workshop staff.
Report any vehicle defects encountered during collection, delivery, or road tests.
Safeguard fuel cards and mobile phones issued during work periods.
Maintain contact with the Bank Driver Co-Ordinator or Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for work availability.
Complete necessary records, including vehicle checks and timesheets.
General Expectations:
Flexibility to work at various Trust sites as needed.
Compliance with Health and Safety regulations and Trust policies.
Uphold confidentiality, data protection, and Trust policies.
Effective communication with colleagues and patients.
Participation in major incident preparation and response.

Qualifications:
GCSEs or equivalent in literacy and numeracy.
Full, valid driving licence (categories B, C1, D1) with a maximum of 3 points.
Report any endorsements or bans on driving licence immediately.
Skills and Knowledge:
Effective liaison with staff and managers.
Good telephone manner.
Ability to manage high workloads while maintaining standards.
Independent working and initiative.
Knowledge of vehicle operations and basic inspections.
Experience:
Customer service experience.
Fleet experience beneficial.
Experience in the vehicle sector.
Personal Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Well-organized, efficient, and able to work under pressure.
Independent and proactive with a flexible approach.
Ability to use discretion and handle competing demands.
