SEMH Teaching Assistant

This is an independent special school for students aged 5 to 19 with an EHCP for social, emotional, mental health, and learning needs.

Our students exhibit a variety of needs, including trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, and behavioural difficulties.

We welcome applications from candidates with varying levels of experience. While previous experience working with students with SEMH, particularly attachment and trauma, is preferred, fulll training is provided. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour is essential, as strong behaviour management skills are crucial.

If you are passionate about supporting children with complex additional needs and have experience with children or adults with challenging and complex SEND/SEMH, this opportunity could be perfect for you.

Requirements:
- Have experience working with children with complex emotional needs
- Provide 1:1 support
- Be extremely confident in managing behaviour
- Demonstrate your ability to build professional relationships with children
- Support complex SEMH needs
- Have a fun yet firm presence
- Understand attachment and trauma
