Location: North Leeds

Contract Type: Temporary (1 year)

Working Hours: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP or September start

Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending upon experience)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our primary schools and support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. This role involves working with the full primary age range, providing small group interventions to help students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the class teacher and SEND coordinator.
- Implement tailored learning activities to meet the specific needs of pupils with SEND.
- Support individual students and small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, to improve their learning outcomes.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, maintaining detailed records to support the evaluation of educational plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for the pupils.

Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of primary education and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational progress of children with special needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs is highly desirable.
