We are looking for an energetic IT Systems Manager who can bring a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector to our small IT team!

Discovery Land Company is a US-based developer and operator of private residential club communities with a world-renowned portfolio of domestic and international properties.

Taymouth Castle Golf and Sport Club is Discovery Land’s second European private members-only golf & sport community. Nestled between two national parks and at the head of Loch Tay in Kenmore, Perthshire, the club incorporates several land estates and is rich in history with dramatic views and the offer of endless adventures.

This private lifestyle-driven community will offer 125 residences, a redesigned world-class golf course and practice facility, wellness and recreation facilities, a range of outdoor pursuits as well as a refurbished 19th century castle to offer a clubhouse with a range of food & beverage outlets and indoor activities. The Club also offers additional facilities at Glenlyon, a nearby farm and mountain estate. As a highly skilled IT Systems Manager for the Taymouth Castle project and its associated properties you play a key role in managing and optimising our IT system infrastructure. Working closely with our corporate IT group you will ensure all IT policies are activated and reliable, delivering seamless operation and security of IT systems whilst contributing to our overall guest experience through innovative technological solutions.

Some Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and enhancing IT systems encompassing servers, networks, and communication systems, aligning with Taymouth Castle Club's technology standards and industry best practices.
  • Overseeing business network, server, and system designs, ensuring effective integration of hospitality and Club-specific software applications.
  • Assisting a small IT team in addressing guest and team member IT issues through a customer service ticketing system for efficient problem resolution.
  • Planning and executing the introduction of new applications and property IT infrastructure rollouts.
  • Leading IT system management projects across Taymouth Castle Club properties, collaborating with various departments to meet project requirements, timelines, and budget.
  • Influencing castle operations by leveraging expertise to commission and manage expansive IT systems in a unique private club environment.
  • Staying updated on industry trends to recommend and implement innovative technologies that enhance hospitality services.
  • Ensuring robust cybersecurity measures, implement reliable internet connectivity, and support IT training programs.
  • Driving personal development and succession planning for direct reports.
  • Providing out-of-hours and special event IT support.
  • Being adaptable to complete other tasks across Taymouth Castle Golf & Sport Club as reasonably required.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager in a hospitality, commercial or retail environment, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality specific systems and guest-facing technologies and trends used in the hospitality sector including point-of-sale (POS), property management systems (PMS), iPTV distribution, Multi-zone A/V and VoIP telecom or similar other hospitality-specific technologies.
  • Familiar with cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations in the hospitality context or similar.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills, and possess a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Possesses the natural ability to develop and coach IT team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Proven project management skills and methodology, and experienced using project management software (e.g. MS Project, Procore or equivalent) with the ability to deliver technology projects on time and within budget
  • Experienced with working with external IT service vendors and able to manage budgets and contracted services.
  • Administrative level knowledge of Windows Server, VMWare, including understanding of Office 365 systems in a server environment.
  • In-depth system design knowledge of multi-site enterprise network infrastructure, equipment management and monitoring software.
  • Experience of site-wide Access Control and Security systems and have supported on-site security and safety team’s IT environments.
  • Some knowledge of wide area horizontal fibre structures and GPON fibre deployment would be an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent interpersonal and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlines, alongside collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to implement projects in a fast-paced hospitality environment using advanced IT systems.
