Summary

Interviews will be held on 31 May 2024.

There has never been a better time to join Berkshire Healthcare Foundation as we have launched a new service initiative providing mental health rehabilitation in the community.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered Occupational Therapist to play a pivotal role in delivering this new service, as well as planning, evaluating, and contributing to its development. We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist who is driven, passionate and excited to be part of a strategically important service provision, in line with our programme of Community Mental Health Transformation which is aiming to transform and enhance the way we deliver our mental health services.

The role will offer autonomy, variety, and significant development opportunities, both in leadership and clinical skills.

The ideal candidate will:
• have knowledge of working with patients with complex rehabilitative needs
• be a registered Occupational Therapist
• be able to empathise, be supportive and sensitive to the needs of others, and themselves
• be passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives, independently

The post holder will be a Band 5 Occupational Therapist in our new Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST). As this is a brand-new initiative this will also involve some input into the development of the service, including feeding into processes and procedures.

On a day-to-day basis, the Occupational Therapist will support patients through a needs-led, client-centred approach to care. Each patient will have a bespoke care plan agreed at MDT, which the Occupational Therapist will help put into action.

This will include supporting patients with developing their skills and relationships to enable them to live healthy, fulfilling lives. Examples of activities that might be undertaken could include home visits, social visits, or helping patients to engage in community activities including sports and social events.

The team will be OT-led and staffed primarily by Occupational Therapists so the Occupational Therapist will provide supervision to junior members of the team.
