Hours per week: 36 Monday – Friday, normal working ours

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3-4 months

The purpose of the role is to work on the end-to-end journey of a service to help users complete their goal through the creation of, or change to, a webpage, website, transaction or software application to make sure content is shown to a user in the right place and in the best format.

Working closely with the Digital Production Manager you will also play a supporting role with testing Drupal CMS components, templates and functionality during Drupal CMS version upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish, clarify and document the required user experience, users' characteristics and tasks, and identify the best format to provide information about Council services and online transactions.
Take the leading role in the iterative design/development of user tasks, interaction and interfaces to meet user requirements, considering the whole user experience, refining the design solutions in response to user-centred evaluation.
Review and challenge business processes and recommend changes that maximise use of digital initiatives.
Support the RBKC Website Improvement Project team by deleting, condensing, curating, publishing and maintaining website content, ensuring it meets the Local Government Digital Service Standard (LGDSS), the Government Design Principles and Web Content Accessibility Standards.
Managed a prioritised product backlog of cms or website features and functionalities through the iterative design and development process, to successful implementation and delivery.

Qualifications:

Educated to bachelor degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Has excellent interpersonal skills and is fully experienced at dealing with clients/users.
Is expert in the methods and techniques for eliciting the context of use, user needs, analysing context of use and generating user requirements. Is familiar with tools for representing system requirements.
Project management experience.
Proficiency in using content management systems (Cms) such as wordpress, drupal, or joomla to update and maintain website content.
Web design and user experience (Ux): understanding of web design principles and user experience best practices to create an appealing and user-Friendly website.
Ability to create and edit multimedia content, including text, images, videos, and graphic
A focus on understanding and meeting the needs and preferences of website visitors and stakeholders.
Experience of scrum (Agile project management framework) to structure and manage your work.
Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of working with Drupal 8 and/or 9.
An expert in the methods and techniques for eliciting the context of use, user needs, analysing context of use and generating user requirements.
Experience in writing detailed briefs to commission new work with suppliers.
Experience of scrum (Agile project management framework) to structure and manage their work.
Be familiar with Jira and other project management tools for representing system requirements, user stories and minimum acceptance criteria.
Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
