Job Title: Web Digital Producer

Pay rate: £27.40 per hour PAYE



Hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.



The role:

We are seeking a Web Digital Producer to manage the end-to-end journey of a service, assisting users in achieving their goals through the creation or modification of webpages, websites, transactions, or software applications, ensuring content is displayed to users in the right place and in the most effective format.



Key responsibilities:

To establish, clarify and document the required user experience, users' characteristics and tasks, and identify the best format to provide information about Council services and online transactions
Take the leading role in the iterative design/development of user tasks, interaction and interfaces to meet user requirements, considering the whole user experience, refining the design solutions in response to user-centred evaluation
To review and challenge business processes and recommend changes that maximise use of digital initiatives
Support the Website Improvement Project team by deleting, condensing, curating, publishing and maintaining website content, ensuring it meets the Local Government Digital Service Standard (LGDSS), the Government Design Principles and Web Content Accessibility Standards



What the client is looking for:

Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven client/user experience
Broad understanding of business operations, commercial constraints, and user needs in interactive systems
Expert in eliciting and analysing user context and requirements; familiar with system requirements tools
Content Strategy & Creation: Skilled in developing user-focused content strategies aligned with GDS standards; creates WCAG 2.2 AA and GDS-compliant content and online forms
UX Design & User Research: Experienced in user flows, wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating with UX researchers to inform user-centred design
Technical & Analytical: Proficient in HTML, CSS, CMS platforms; manages website analytics and support processes to optimise content and user experience
Leadership & Collaboration: Strong project management skills; able to prioritise tasks and build effective relationships with teams, partners, and stakeholders. Provides guidance and fosters a collaborative culture
Strategic & Communication: Translates technical terms for diverse audiences; develops digital strategies aligned with goals; manages risks and workflows; promotes cross-department collaboration
