We are recruiting a key member of our ward team, a House Keeper.

We are looking to recruit a special person with anenthusiastic, warmth, highly motivated, energetic individual into avibrant and friendly team of nurses within the Chemotherapy Day Unit. This post is contracted to 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills who can demonstrate an ability to work closely with other team members in providing the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, for a diverse community.

We are seeking for a well-motivated person who will have a genuine enthusiasm, compassionate and dedication as well as effectively apply Our WECARE values within the clinical setting. Our WECARE values shape everything that we do, every single day. They are visible in every interaction we have with each other, our patients and their families.

7A is large day ward which has up to 200 cancer patients attending each day. These patients are often anticipating difficult treatments and we aim to provide them with the best support whilst they are in our waiting & treatment areas. This includes, the provision of a clean & comfortable environment with access to food & hot beverages and, also some physical assistance as needed. The Ward Housekeeper will be an ambassador for the ward, being one of the first people the patients & visitors meet. As the patients attend for repeated treatments the housekeeper should become a familiar & friendly patient support. The house keeper will be asked to provide patients and visitors with key information about how the unit is working – such as outlining any general delays affecting the unit. It will always be the clinical teams who are responsible for informing patients of any updates that are specific to them. But a house keeper focused on supporting patients in the waiting area and, facilitating them to raise any concerns to the nurse coordinators we be a great improvement to our service
