As we embark on an ambitious new forward plan, Chelmsford Museum has an exciting opportunity for a new Curatorial & Learning Manager.
Taking the lead on the management of our collections and overseeing the delivery of our exhibitions, community engagement and education programmes, you will ensure that the museum is outward facing while embedding a culture of co-curation and inclusive learning.
To be successful, you’ll need strong leadership and communications skills with the ability to guide, manage and support the development of a dynamic and ambitious curatorial and learning team.
As a key member of the Museum Management Team, the Curatorial and Learning Manager will be an integral part of our upcoming accreditation and the development of the museum brand while supporting the Museum Manager with the roll out of a commercialisation programme.
The successful applicant will be an ambassador for our museum, which welcomes over 100,000 visitors every year and sits at the centre of the district’s cultural ambitions. A key aspect of the role will be to work with colleagues and partners to sustain the long-term future of the venue as a vital cultural hub for the entire district.
If you are keen to ignite a passion for Chelmsford and want to help us shape its future as a great place to live and work, whilst also enhancing the museum’s profile as a key visitor destination, then this is your opportunity.
To request an informal conversation about the role, please email marc.death@chelmsford.gov.uk
