Materials and Production Planner - UK Eyes Only


My client designs and manufactures environmental monitoring technology to make the world safer, cleaner and smarter

They are looking for a production planner engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your responsibilities:

  • Running MRP on a daily basis
  • Reviewing MRP messages for work order action (i.e. create new work order, expedite, defer, cancel existing work orders according to MRP messages).
  • Maintaining static MRP data (lead-times, costs, economic batch sizes, work centres, locations)
  • Maintaining, reviewing and printing work orders
  • Creating/collating work order document packs for live work orders
  • Checking and adjusting work order start and finish dates to meet required sales order delivery schedule or internal engineering orders.
  • Verifying all work order transactions have been completed correctly upon job completion including booking of labour time, issue of materials and build quantities.
  • Adding/adjusting material/labour work order allocations as required.
  • Collating and updating standard operational times for made in house items.
  • Booking completed work orders into stock as required.
  • Running work order shortage reports and working with purchasing to relieve shortages.
  • Managing the internal Stock Build Sales Order - anticipating and loading future stock builds and adjusting existing stock builds as required.
  • Assisting with the planning and administration and shipping of RMA or rework work orders as required.
  • Scanning and filing work order documentation.


The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrate a sound & comprehensive knowledge of fundamental engineering theories, aptitude for design & ability to problem solve.
  • Can show evidence of having produced component & assembly drawings to a recognised standard.
  • Producing & reading standard engineering drawings and ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Attention to detail: tolerances, safety factors, component specifications, materials selection, testing, build standard control
  • Ability to communicate through out the company at all levels
