Summary

Production Quality Engineer

My client is a developer and manufacturer of products used in underwater applications i.e. sonar systems, seismology, mapping, measuring currents.

They are looking for a Production Quality Engineer to join their product support team on a permanent basis.

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with production, quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify product and process specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
  • Provide quality engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
  • Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
  • Assisting NPI department in pre-production process ensuring quality excellence is achieved on product prior to release to production.
  • Working closely with NPI team to ensure pre-production process is supported and quality information is gathered and reported before product release.
  • Participate in the use of a Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) where required.
  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and effective corrective action.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Toolroom to resolve supplier concerns.
  • Apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools and define, manage, and report on the production key performance indicators (KPI's)


The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • IT literate, proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven experience of Production Quality Engineering and Control within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Practical knowledge of IPC Standards.
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the automotive, electronics or defence/aerospace industries.
