This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to continue to develop their professional career in a challenging yet rewarding role and environment.

If this sounds like the role for you, we welcome applications from candidates who demonstrate inspirational and resourceful leadership to lead and land change into our business and deliver a positive and efficient service working in a fast paced and challenging environment.

    More about the role:

You will horizon scan change across the business, not just looking at current changes but the future landscape and assess the Area’s readiness for change and it’s impact. A key part of the role will be to identify and fill the gaps in preparing our people for change, and influencing how and when changes are landed.

It will be through the ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships, by engaging and collaborating with key stakeholders, to co-ordinate, facilitate and lead the development of opportunities and solutions to land change well into the business. You will represent the Area Director to clearly understand and articulate the business implications of landing change well, and drawing out the consequences if it doesn’t.

The Area Transformation Lead is a key player in our business to provide a clear line of site to local operations through regular communications, including great story telling to foster open dialogue about the impact of change, how it fits into the Departments wider change agenda, and what it means for our people delivering our service at the front line.

Part of this will be achieved through the ability to prepare and deliver presentations through a variety of mediums both internally and externally. Also, draft succinct, comprehensive, well informed communication products to a high quality, with clearly defined options and well thought out recommendations for consideration by senior leaders.

The role will include brokering and assessing optional readiness to accept change, whilst maintaining alignment with Programme Change Owners and strategic objectives. The successful candidate will analyse, evaluate and interpret data and other relevant information to identify issues and proactively devise and develop options to solve problems and/or address areas of concern.

In terms of the working location, this job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home.  This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
