KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Machine Operator for our client based in Croydon.
As a Machine Operator you will be working Monday- Friday, with the working hours:
• Day Shift- 07:30- 16:30 Monday – Thursday and 07:30- 15:40 Friday (first month on day shift)
• Afternoon Shift- 15:30- 00:30 Monday- Thursday and 03:30- 23:40 Friday
The rate of pay as a Machine Operator is:
• £11.50 - £12.50 p/h (based on relevant experience)
Duties and responsibilities as a Machine Operator are:
• As a machine operator you will set up, operate, and maintain sheet fed die cutting machinery, including Bobst Novacut and Asahi die cutters.
• Verify job details before feeding the press and perform necessary adjustments.
• Conduct daily press maintenance and lubrication tasks.
• Work enthusiastically to achieve production targets.
• Inspect pallets after cutting and complete daily quality checklists.
• Perform make-ready and preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate daily records of time, materials usage, and production information.
• Assist with hand packing duties as needed.
• Adhere to all company safety protocols, hygiene procedures, and allergen management practices related to BRC compliance.
• Report any potentially unsafe conditions or non-compliance issues to a supervisor for documentation and corrective action.
• Effectively communicate any quality concerns or customer complaints to designated personnel.
The ideal candidate for a Machine Operator must have:
• Experience as a Sheet Fed Die Cutting Operator (essential).
• Experience operating machinery similar to Bobst die cutters (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A willingness to learn and adapt.
• Manufacturing experience preferred (essential).
• Experience with hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts preferred (desirable).
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting
