Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm

Role Length: This opening assignment is for 8-9 months

City: Eastbourne, East Sussex

Proven minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role.

The Facilities Co-ordinator is a key role within Estates & Facilities Department, supporting operational policing by providing officers with a safe, comfortable, effective working environment. This important customer facing role provides a variety of services from day-to-day activities such as minor maintenance, H&S auditing, administrative support and contractor management; to larger works including office relocations, site improvements and assisting with refurbishment projects.

Based at an Eastbourne Police Base, Hammonds Drive the successful candidate will cover a diverse range of sites across the county supporting a variety of police departments often with individual needs and requirements. From a single office in a shared building to a multi building site; there is no such thing as a typical police station and you will support a number of buildings across a wide geographical area, as such a full driver’s license is essential.

Other “Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

Full UK driving licence required with the ability to pass police driving assessment. The role will require you to drive a range of different vehicles.



Qualifications:

IOSH Working Safety or Managing Safety qualification is preferable, if not you will be required to work towards this qualification within a timeframe to be agreed with line manager.
Minimum of five grade A-C GCSE’s/equivalent level qualifications NVQ level 2 or possess relevant experience.



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Previous experience of working in the facilities environment, with a desire to learn and undertake relevant training to expand knowledge and experience is essential, previous practical experience is preferred.
Good knowledge of workplace safety needed. Knowledge and experience of the practical application of Health & Safety legislation and safe operating procedures in the workplace is preferred.
Specific H&S knowledge, in areas including Manual Handling, Legionella, COSHH, Asbestos, Lone working, working at height, an advantage but training is provided.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work using own initiative to solve problems.
Ability to work as part of a team and confident to take own responsibility for decisions made.
Experience of undertaking minor repairs & improvements.
Must be IT literate and have good keyboard skills in order to operate relevant computer packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to provide an efficient service.
