A vibrant and culturally diverse Primary School based in Haringey, N17, are looking for a new Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery Team.

Job Description

The ideal Special Needs Teaching assistant will have experience in working with early years children as well as pupils with SEND. There will also be some elements of manual handling. The school are looking for a Special Needs teaching assistant who is enthusiastic, energetic and can implement consistent boundaries. If successful, you will need to build positive relationships, working closely with staff and parents to share detailed information regarding the children’s day-to-day activities and health needs. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

You will support the child in their learning endeavours whilst also supporting the class teacher in the delivery of their lessons when needed. It is expected that you will be available between 8:15 am and 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support and care for children with SEN
- Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment for children
- Engage in activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Collaborate with special education professionals to ensure the implementation of appropriate strategies
- Monitor and document progress and behaviors of children
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mealtime, and toileting



To be considered for this role you will need:

· Understand the Early Years curriculum.

· Must be comfortable with toilet training, toileting, and personal care.

· Must have experience with SEN children.
