Position: Design Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: Willenhall
Salary: Dependent on experience
The Background and Role
An innovative organisation in the specialist defence-related industry is seeking a flexible and adaptable Design Engineer to join their team. The candidate must be a UK national and will need to pass security vetting upon employment.
The Person
Qualifications:
Qualified to SVQ/NVQ level 5 or ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4) or City & Guilds T4 or T6 in Mechanical Engineering.
Supported by an EITB Approved Apprenticeship.
Skills and Knowledge:
Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles with the ability to apply them analytically and methodically.
Strong background in Design, Project Administration, and Engineering.
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
Knowledge of SolidWorks Solid Modelling is advantageous.
Attributes:
Flexible and adaptable to various working methods and processes.
Well-organised and able to communicate technical and practical concepts effectively.
Team player with good computer literacy.
Responsibilities
Compile, monitor, and update project plans and status reports.
Manage project engineering and procurement files.
Provide technical and administrative support for specific projects.
Support drawing and parts list release and modification.
Assist during the procurement, build, and test phases of projects.
Generate project procurement lists, and raise project RFQs and purchase orders.
Monitor and actively progress the project procurement process.
Handle project deliveries, goods inwards approval, and assignment to relevant projects.
Undertake additional project duties as requested by Senior Management.
Experience
Preferably 5+ years in a Mechanical Design/Manufacturing Environment.
