A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Microbiology Department in the Division of Mount Vernon and Clinical Support Services. The successful candidate will be providing a high quality and efficient secretarial service to the consultant team.

Applicants must be able to use their own initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines, and have excellent organisational and communication skills. It is important to be able to work flexibly within the team. Previous secretarial experience within a hospital environment would be advantageous.

This post will be based at The Hillingdon Hospital. Hours will be 9.00am to 13.00pm, Monday to Friday per week.

You will play an essential role within the team, helping to maintain and when necessary, improve good working practices.

You will be expected to provide cover for team members as per service needs.

You will be expected to manage the day-to-day workload, ensuring that priorities are identified and dealt with and problems are resolved as quickly as possible

You will be expected to manage the diaries of the consultant team and arrange meetings, prepare appropriate paperwork and take minutes.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
