We are looking an enthusiastic healthcare assistant to work in our very busy Leicester Glenfield Outpatients Department and Loughborough NCSEM.

This position is band 2 or 3 dependent on experience.

You will enjoy a challenging varied pace and an exciting working environment caring for a complex range of patients.

Glenfield Outpatients Department cover various clinics and specialties such as Cardiology, Respiratory, Vascular, Breast Care, Orthopaedics, Palliative Care and Rheumatology to name a few.

You will be working closely with a large team of nursing and medical staff, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, to provide high quality care to patients and their carer's.

You will need to have healthcare experience, excellent communication skills, positive personality and a mature and professional approach to their work. Computer skills are desirable. You must be able to deal with the public in a sensitive and polite manner, and be flexible in their approach to duties of work.

You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility is required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital), also If your initial location is one of these sites excess travel reimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporary change of base.

You will work on clinics completing observations, height, weight, BMI and ECG's, contributing to the smooth running of clinics ensuring patient satisfaction.

In addition to the above it is essential that all patients are cared for individually, they may need assistance with personal care, manual handling and emotional support whilst in our department

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
