We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and resilient ClinicalEducator,working 37.5 hours perweek. You willbe required to work flexible shifts, as well as across-site working.

This is apermanent role,where you will contribute to practice education for clinical nursing staff within both endoscopy units. If you have an interest in clinical education and are keen to develop new skills, then this could be the role for you!

It is essential that you are able to demonstrate proven substantial experience of working within the area of endoscopy and you must be able to show that have had experience of working in an acute clinical environment.

Working as a Band 6, the post will be split between the two JAG accredited Endoscopy units within the Trust at CDH and RPH. Across both units, we carry out a wide range of both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to both outpatients and inpatients, these include:

Royal Preston Hospital procedures:
• GI procedures including; OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/ Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) endoscopy.
• GI Emergency Bleed rota
• As part of the National BCSP we undertake the FOBt screening lists.
• Diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy including: Endobronchial Ultrasound/Trans Bronchial Needle Aspiration (EBUS/TBNA)/Endobronchial Valves and coils and stents/Thoracoscopy/Indwelling Pleural catheter (IPC) placement/Nasal-endoscopy for Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (ILO).

Chorley Hospital procedures:
• GI procedures including; OGD/Colonoscopy/Flexible sigmoidoscopy/Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR)/Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)/Breath Tests
• As part of the National BCSP we undertake the FOBt Screening lists.
• Diagnostic bronchoscopies

You will be expected to work in partnership with the senior nursing team within the units, as well as the Clinical Endoscopy Teaching Lead. Ability to demonstrate that you can build and maintain good relationships with all multi-professional teams is essential. You will be reliable, flexible, have excellent managerial skills, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development. You will need a commitment to empowering the staff to deliver high quality evidence-based nursing care, ensuring all our patients have a positive Endoscopy experience and be willing and open to embracing positive change and transformation meeting the demands of the community we serve.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:
• Support staff to develop the required clinical skills through teaching and assessment of competency (nurses, junior doctors)
• Assessment and mentorship of staff nurses, students and other allied health professional as necessary
• Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, in a manner that is consistent with relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation
• Competency development and assessment – within the Trust policies/frameworks and national standards
• To support development of staff within the clinical areas by the direct provision of mentorship and clinical supervision as required Governance
