Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Nesscliff Camp, Shropshire.

As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.

You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week. You will be required to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.

Hours of work - 37 per week

Days of work - 5 in 7

Contract - Permanent

You will be on a starting salary of £25,356.20 per annum, once you have completed successful probation and have the required skills for the role your salary will increase. This will usually be completed within 12 months.

Main Responsibilities

To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities are fit for purpose in accordance with the allocation and ensure compliance with the TESC service modules e.g.:

preparing training areas for use

preventative maintenance

grounds maintenance

operation and maintenance of plant and equipment

forestry and arboreal work

manufacturing targets

housekeeping

equipment testing

calibrating, sustainability tasks

driving and operating fleet vehicles

completing work orders

To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work e.g.:

Control of access

Warning systems including training control offices, radar and flags

Reporting defects

Report and deal with unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate.

To liaise with all stakeholders to ensure effective training area delivery e.g.:

Handover/ take back of facilities with service users including providing information on ‘maximising’ the facility,

The Employers representatives regarding training area safety and usage

Direct and advise wider training estate users including the general public.

To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems

The Ideal Candidate

Full driving licence valid in the United Kingdom

Knowledge of Health and Safety such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Experience as a range/ training area user (not essential)

Experience of communicating with customers

Basic labouring, caretaking and housekeeping skills

Ability to complete documentation

Basic IT skills

Complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard – this is compulsory for all personnel who work for Landmarc Support Services Limited as Official Defence Contractors
