Crynodeb
The post holder will support the Adult Critical Care units to ensure safe, optimal and cost-effective medicines usage, improve patient outcomes and reduce mortality. The role requires a strategic view to the provision of Critical Care Pharmacy Services and is responsible for leading quality improvement and governance initiatives for the therapeutics aspect of the Adult Critical Care Service to develop the service in line with the Pharmacy Department and Hospital objectives. The post holder will undertake and contribute to daily consultant-led critical care ward rounds, assist with antimicrobial stewardship, and develop close working relationships with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), Intensivists, Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) and pharmacy team to contribute to the smooth running of the Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Through continuing professional development, you will develop your professional, technical, and clinical skills and provide a service of excellence to patients and staff and will aspire to be a respected clinician in the field. As a member of the pharmacy team, you will be required to provide general training and development of pharmacists and medical staff within critical care and AMS. You will be required to ensure implementation of procedures and be responsible for updating and reviewing policies and procedures relevant to the clinical area.
