An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Clinical Advice & Triage Centre (ECAT Team) in one of our EOC sites based in Bedford, Chelmsford or Norwich (negotiable) for an experienced Administrator. The role of an ECAT Assistant is to primarily to assist in the smooth running of a busy triage hub within the Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). A varied and busy role, the ECAT Assistants will take calls for clinical staff, relay messages, arrange appointments and take clerical notes for other staff.



You will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent education level and be a competent user of relevant Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel. At least 12 months experience within an administrative role and the ability to communicate effectively are essential. The Trust is looking for someone who is able to multi-task and prioritise as you will be dealing with a high volume of work and a variety of deadlines.



Ensure contractual obligations; punctuality, attendance, attitude, flexibility.

Receive calls and input into Cleric, LowCode or other system.

Support CSD by managing calls into and out of the ECATC, identifying and passing to the correct MDT clinician and/or liaising with line managers.

Support and provide administrative assistance to the clinicians working – relay of call information by multiple methods; email, fax, telephone etc.

Ensure GRS is updated weekly.

Act as contact point for the Clinical staff calling into the ECATC.

Input data using Cleric, LowCode, Microsoft or GRS as required to assist the function of the LowCode.

The successful applicant will provide effective administrative support to the Clinical Coordinator, Specialist Clinicians and other MDT Clinicians by taking routine calls, assisting with the administrative duties and requirements of the Emergency Clinical Advise & Triage Centre (ECATC). You will also receive calls from crews, other EOC staff, ECAT staff and other healthcare agencies to assist the clinical staff with information flow; message taking and general telephony administration.
