Job Purpose


As the Lead Welder you’ll be accountable for the delivery of operational activities for cyclical and ad hoc Maintenance activities within the Heavy Workshop to include working on a variety of assets, primarily pre-heater remediation and bespoke fabrications.
You will be responsible for maintaining a proactive work environment focused on safety, quality, and timeliness of job completion.





What you’ll get to work on



- Undertake day to day Mechanical activities such as, welding, fitting, fabricating, Tooling/plant checks
- Lead operations in areas of specialism eg: lifting, hot works
- Assist on developing risk assessments, method statements
- Ensure permit / CP requirements are supported
- Ensure activities are in full compliance with safe Control of Operations procedures and CDM requirements
- Share, promote and facilitate technical and procedural best practise
- Represent the department on projects / initiatives
- Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environmental legislation, engineering and customer standards
- Lead on technical support to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective development of the workshop
- Ensure workplace standards are upheld and contribute to continuous improvement
- Demonstrate compliance with the required standards/company procedures
- Be responsible for ensuring data recording and accuracy to support accurate management and regulatory reporting





Who are we looking for


We are looking for candidates who hold any of the below qualifications or their equivalents:

- BS EN 9606-1 – Qualification testing of welders Fusion welding and steel
- BS EN 4515 – Supplementary to GD/SP/P/2
- BS EN 6990 – Supplementary to CAD/SP/P/9
- BS EN 15614-1 – Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials
