Summary

Our company is growing rapidly and is hiring for a HR administrator. If you are looking for an exciting place to work and have HR experience or HR related qualification, we would love to hear from you.

Job Overview:
To manage the companies HR functions in line with internal policies and procedures. You will also support the admin team with administrative work, under the direction of the Office Manager and Managing Director.

Recruitment Management:
- Oversee, advise and assist with all staff recruitment from placing adverts, to shortlisting and interviewing, to securing the appointment and implementing initial staff training. This will include contractors, freelance staff and international candidates.
- Carrying out recruitment checks for successful candidate – ensuring that the individual is safe to work with children and vulnerable adults
- Prepare and review job descriptions and recruitment packs.
- Inputting new joiners onto Bright HR, liaising with payroll, IT and other internal stakeholders to ensure everything is set up in time for the new joiner’s arrival.

Absence Management:
- Accurately record and monitor all staff absence including sickness, annual leave, medical appointments and any other forms of absences.
- Deliver advice and guidance in relation to absence polices and procedures.

Contractual Management:
- Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment to all staff using internal standardised template.
- Issue new staff with employment handbooks.
- Prepare contracts for services for self-employed third parties e.g. free-lance staff
- Prepare all letters relating to changes in terms and conditions e.g. changes to hours, salary, job role and working arrangements etc.
- Maintain up to date terms and conditions for all staff.
- Support line managers in dealing with poor performance and attendance issues, including disciplinaries and grievances

Induction and Training:
- Manage new starter process and assist with inductions.
- Contribute to the organisation and development of training for all staff.
- Organise safeguarding related training.
- Manage online compliance training and ensure this is carried out by all staff and keeping records of training.
- Conduct training needs analysis for support staff and advise on suitable, cost effective training courses and resources for development.
Compliance and Policies:
- Ensuring the organisation is compliant with and that all staff are aware of relevant polices and regulations such as the Safer Recruitment Policy and the Staff Handbook.

General:
- Respond to day-to-day transactional HR issues. This includes overseeing all procedures to ensure the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults (including the maintenance of a Single Central Record and all HR records).
- Perform staff probation and appraisal reviews.
- Administer the consistent and accurate processing of all contractual changes, the starter and leaver processes along with relevant paperwork.
- Conduct all probations, appraisals and exit interviews and log the same taking any necessary action required including documenting reviews undertaken.
- Process references for former staff.
- Ensure all personal data is managed, processed and retained in accordance with relevant data protection legislation.
- Carry out other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Managing Director and the Office Manager.
- Attend Safer Recruitment training or any other mandatory training, as necessary

Additional Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Peninsula for any HR and H&S queries to ensure we are abiding with best practice and legislation.
- Maintain purchasing card for office supplies and services
- Support staff with administrative tasks, including answering calls, resolving queries from learners and liaising with learners regarding enrolments

Disclosure and other pre-employment checks:
- Keir Training & Recruitment is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of all stakeholders. Appointment of candidate for this role will be subject to a successful enhanced disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. This must provide details of all spent and unspent convictions and other recordable matters. A policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders is available from the Managing director.

Experience
- Experience of working in an educational environment (desirable)
- Experience of working with Bright HR is desirable

Qualifications and Knowledge
- Degree level or equivalent.
- Member of the CIPD to Associate Level or above desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of standard and implied contractual terms and conditions of employment (essential)
- Knowledge of the Keeping Children Safe in Education would be an advantage.
- Schools or education sector knowledge would be an advantage.
