Are you passionate about supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have the patience, empathy, and dedication to make a positive impact in their lives?
Our partner school is a specialist SEN school dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils aged 5-19 with ASD. Their holistic approach focuses on individual strengths and tailored educational plans, ensuring every student can thrive.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ASD.
- Assist teachers in creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Use a variety of communication methods, including visual aids and assistive technology.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster independence and self-confidence in students.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with ASD.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education needs (SEN) is desirable.
