Summary
An inclusive and supportive secondary school in Waltham Forest is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant for a September start. This school fosters a love of learning early on and are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who embodies those values. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them at every stage of their educational journey. SEN Teaching Assistants are an integral part of our team, working on a 1-1 and small group basis with students across varying year groups and departments. We are looking for warm and empathetic individuals with some experience working with children/young people with SEN in some capacity.
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Waltham Forest
Start Date: September
Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Work closely to support students with a range of special educational needs (SEN)
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans.
- Support classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for all students.
Qualifications:
- A passion for education and a commitment to student success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Being proactive and easily adaptable
- Experience working with children/young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- An enhanced DBS on the Online Update Service (or be willing to get one)
