We are currently supporting local schools to seek passionate, dedicated and experienced Catering Managers.

The Role

We are helping to support schools over Essex with staff, we need experienced Catering Managers to work on an ad-hoc basis as and when needed. You will ideally have experience working as a Catering Manager, this does not have to be in a school setting!

Are you a passionate and experienced Catering Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the education sector? We are looking to appoint a Catering Manager to prepare delicious home-cooked food for our pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that methods of preparation and presentation comply with currently recognised catering standards and food safety legislation.
  • Ensuring the school kitchen is well maintained and cleaned regularly.
  • Manage ordering of stock and equipment and oversee stock control.
  • Have good communication skills and manage the catering team in a professional manner.
  • Ensure high quality food provision whilst maintaining best value practice.
  • Be fully compliant with all health & safety requirements and hygiene standards.
  • Implement and review menu cycles regularly and promote theme days.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Schools Financial Regulations are followed throughout the catering operation.

Experience:

  • Planning meals within nutritional and dietary guidelines and with catering for a range of allergies
  • Completing monitoring and food temperature records
  • Managing a daily cleaning checklist
  • Cross contamination and allergen management
  • Menu planning and compliance
  • Health and safety in food hygiene
