We are currently supporting local schools to seek passionate, dedicated and experienced Catering Assistants.

The Role

We are helping to support schools over Essex with staff, we need experienced Catering Assistants to work on an ad-hoc basis as and when needed. You will ideally have experience working as a Catering Assistant, this does not have to be in a school setting!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for basic food preparation - preparing, serving and clearing up
  • Clearing away and washing up after lunch and other functions
  • To ensure that cleanliness is maintained within the facilities and are adequately stocked
  • To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory and school regulations
  • Ensuring the guidance for those with special diets and on allergen labelling is adhered to
  • To use powered cleaning and catering equipment in accordance with the relevant safety requirements
  • Good customer service skills - serving students and staff
  • During service times, to ensure that tables and counters are as clean as reasonably practicable and adequately stocked
  • Report immediately any accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible
