As an extension of this approach, we are embedding a Family Safeguarding model, including adult mental health workers, domestic abuse and substance misuse recovery workers integrated together with children & family's social workers to support families.

Your New Role:

You will assess, plan and deliver interventions to parents/carers with substance misuse needs whose children are open to Children's Social Care. You will undertake assessments and reviews, provide specialist advice and guidance, and contribute to the 'Team Around the Worker' approach. You will ensure that people who experience substance use issues, together with domestic abuse and mental health needs, are provided with timely assessments and receive appropriate support.

What you'll need to succeed:

You have excellent knowledge of Drug and Alcohol treatment, including use of evidence-based effective interventions, and experience, knowledge and understanding of adults and children's safeguarding procedures. You have knowledge and experience of issues relating to difference and social exclusion/inclusion, are adaptable, flexible, and inclusive to meet the needs of people from diverse communities, and can consider inequalities and take action to address these. You have experience of working in situations of crisis and emotionally demanding environments, and working with a wide variety of families, demonstrating your experience across the whole life span. You have an up-to-date knowledge of research, relevant legislation, ethical issues, strategic frameworks, and current guidelines regarding the range of presenting needs relevant to adult substance misuse treatment.
