There are two posts – the Breast Screening Senior Clinical Lead is offered at a full-time10 Programmed Activities per week / 37.5 hoursappointment.

The AAA/DES Senior Clinical Lead is offered at 9 Programmed Activities/33.75 hours appointment.

If medically qualified the individual will be appointed to the point of the consultant salary scale (2003 contract) for England appropriate to their years of seniority or if from a background other than medicine to an equivalent Agenda for Change Band 8d.

The Consultant in Public Health Screening Senior Clinical Leads will work as part of an integrated screening portfolio team (either breast screening or AAA/DES screening) in the Screening Sub Directorate of NHS England’s national Vaccination and Screening Directorate, working very closely with the Head of Operations for the same national screening specific portfolio.

The post holder will have responsibility for providing clinical and public health advice, including the oversight of the external clinical and professional advice for the national screening sub directorate and will be accountable for the delivery of a consistent quality assurance and improvement function for the screening portfolio, in line with national frameworks and processes.
