We are seeking to appoint two full time Specialist Audiologists to join our busy and friendly team. One post is permanent and one is fixed term for one year.

You will need to be a well-motivated, enthusiastic qualified audiologist. We are an innovative department, providing a comprehensive audiology service. You will join a highly motivated team, committed to providing a high quality service.

Main duties will be in the assessment and habilitation of children with hearing difficulties, on both complex and routine pathways. You must have excellent communication skills with children and parents, and have a desire to find creative and effective solutions for patients with a variety of hearing problems. You will be a competent practitioner and able to work without supervision in the main department and at community clinics. You will be expected to develop specialist expertise although training will be given. There may be opportunities for some adult work, depending on experience. We are a training department and you would be expected to contribute to training junior staff and PTP and STP trainees.

We are particularly looking for candidates with ABR experience. In addition, skills and experience with audiology equipment management and liaison with IT would be of benefit.



1. The provision of a comprehensive audiology service within the context of the wider department

2. Carrying out a range of diagnostic audiological tests

3. Providing audiology assessment to 0-18 year olds across secondary and tertiary tier paediatric services.

4. Providing a comprehensive (re)habilitation service to hearing impaired children and adults using knowledge and experience in the training and supervision of staff

5. Carrying out quality assurance measures including audits and service evaluation projects.

6. Working independently and part of a multidisciplinary paediatric hearing services team.

7. Maintaining own professional knowledge and contribute to the clinical developments of the department.

There will be a requirement for some Saturday working.

You will have an STP in Audiology or equivalent. RCCP registration is expected.
