Would you like the opportunity to expand your skills, and be part of evolving and developing services?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Recovery Clinical lead to join our team of practitioners at Colchester Hospital. This is a shared post with the current Recovery Clinical Lead, in the expansion of an additional 8 recovery beds in the New Elective Orthopaedic Centre.

You will deliver outstanding leadership and expertise in the clinical environment and providing expert clinical leadership to a specialty team. Taking responsibility for Clinical/Operational leadership and the care and management of patients.

You will have advanced Skills and knowledge in the management and 24hr delivery of the following specialties: Trauma and Orthopaedics, General/Emergency Surgery, Anaesthetics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Ear Nose and Throat, Spinal, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Post-Operative Recovery.

You will be supported by the Matron for Theatres and Anaesthetics, Clinical Educator and the Clinical Leads for the other theatres.

Do you possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work confidently and collaboratively across professional boundaries? Are you keen and motivated to develop services? Do you have excellent leadership qualities with a passion about caring for patients? If so then we look forward to your application

Candidates MUST be able to demonstrate:
• Effective leadership, organisational, communication, negotiation and management skills whilst ensuring a safe patient experience
• How they achieve the delivery of a safe, cost effective clinical care service
• Their involvement in reporting incidents, the development and implementation of action plans and provide evidence of shared learning
• Their experience in service development and change management that have had a positive impact on the patient’s journey is a key requisite for this role
• Their knowledge of the procurement service and the preparation/management of specialist complex medical and surgical equipment.
• Act as a resource to empower theatre team leaders and their staff to maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring a safe, efficient environment for all patients undergoing surgery.
• Applicants must be registered with the NMC or HCPC must have experience within the Theatre/Recovery or Critical Care environment.
