Summary


An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 nurse to join our evolving Emergency Department Team. With the introduction of ED streaming, the successful candidate will have excellent assessment and triage skills and have the ability to rapid assess and signpost post patients within a busy ED waiting room to alternative pathways.

This band 6 role provides a real opportunity to develop leadership skills, clinical skills and knowledge base within the Emergency Services Directorate.

The Emergency Department is exceptionally busy and currently has circa 153,000 annual attendees. An understanding of the importance of maintaining patient flows through the hospital is pivotal to this role. Are you ready to embrace the new ways of working within our innovative department? The Urgent and Emergency Care Centre offers a one entry portal for all of our acute admissions and boasts a hybrid Emergency and Medical SDEC within its locality . We are also fortunate enough to have a specialist Children's area built to the highest specification and having its own 2 bedded high care area.

We are looking for caring, compassionate and dynamic nurses to work as a Streaming nurse within the Emergency care setting. The suitable candidate will have a minimum of 2 years acute care experience and must be proficient in triage and rapid assessment skills. The individual we want would be committed to sustaining and improving our patient pathways, have good clinical skills and be able to act as a professional role model.
