Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Scotland: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSEN Transmission is at the heart of the transition to net zero in the UK. In the coming years, our network will be pivotal in connecting and transporting the power needed to decarbonise the UK's electricity network and in doing so, power the UK's net zero ambition. Our business is rapidly growing, in order to deliver the largest investment package that Scotland's electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme of over £20bn in the next 10 years.

This network development will make a significant positive contribution to meeting net zero targets in Scotland and the UK, offering significant opportunities for SSEN Transmission to play our part in delivering a just energy transition, whilst doing the right thing for people and planet.

As Senior Sustainability Data Analyst at SSEN Transmission, you will help to measure our impacts on people, the environment, and economy. Your analytical skills and ability to communicate complex data in clear, impactful language will help us to make evidence-based decisions and monitor progress against our sustainability goals. You will report to our Sustainability Strategy Manager, sitting in the Sustainable Economics Team.

Core responsibilities:

- Sustainability data management: Lead data management, analysis and reporting of sustainability metrics across the business, working closely with teams across the business to ensure best practice data reporting processes and systems are in place.

- Lead data analysis for sustainability reporting: Produce sustainability data dashboard(s) to share progress against our sustainability goals. Support the annual sustainability reporting process, working closely with reporting lead(s) and leading the evaluation of sustainability evidence from around the business and from our supply chain.

- Data improvement: Seek opportunities for efficiency improvements in data flow and collection methodologies, integrating corporate data collection efforts with existing business processes and automate data collection when possible.

- Stakeholder engagement: Liaise with relevant primary data owners both internally and externally to secure data feeds and understand data protocols.

- Management of data sharing with SSE Group: Manage data traffic between SSEN Transmission and SSE Group, including managing how we gather, store, access, and analyse sustainability data on any shared platforms, and informing Group-level reporting and ensuring data accuracy and quality.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Excellent IT skills including Excel and related software such as PowerBI.

- Experience of data handling including how to manage datasets as a support for wider commercial outcomes.

- Ability to produce structured, concise and meaningful reports, presentations and dashboards, summarising results and justifying conclusions, containing technical information.

- Experience of setting and maintaining sustainability data standards.

- Good stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and support internal and external stakeholders to make improvements in data capture, quality, and accuracy.
