As a Regulation Analyst in SSEN Transmission, you will be at the forefront of one of the most significant transformations in the UK energy sector. In this role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the delivery of our ambitious RIIO-T2 Business Plan, preparing for the next regulatory price control (RIIO-T3 2026-2031), and supporting the £10bn Accelerating Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework, which will significantly expand the North of Scotland's transmission network. You'll also play a significant role in influencing future policy direction as we navigate through the fast-changing energy policy environment. Contributing to work in a cross functional projects team in a matrix environment, you will support and collaborate with other team members on a wide range of issues. You'll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure, and taking ownership of multiple priorities and deadlines.

You will

- Research, analyse, and prepare recommendations on regulatory policy, using qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform business decisions.

- Work collaboratively with teams across SSEN Transmission to identify and resolve regulatory issues, ensuring compliance with industry frameworks.

- Support regulatory submissions and engagement with Ofgem to secure funding and approvals for key network investment projects.

- Monitor policy developments, assess potential impacts, and help shape SSEN Transmission's approach to regulatory change.

- Present insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across the business, helping drive informed decision making.

You have

- A degree level qualification in a relevant field (e.g. economics, finance, business, science, engineering or law) and/or experience in a similar analytical or policy-based role. Experience in utility regulation, energy, or compliance would be an advantage, but we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and a passion for the energy sector.

- An ability to interpret information, notice discrepancies/inconsistencies, ask the right questions, and determine their significance/risk in order to inform policy decisions.

- A rigorous and thorough approach to research and analysis, seeking multiple data sources and opinions, and from these establishing well-reasoned conclusions, proposals and recommendations.

- A proactive attitude towards learning and problem solving, with the ability to ask the right questions and find answers using all available resources within a diverse, engineering focused organisation.

- Good communication and presentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Applications should be accompanied by a cover letter outlining why you are interested in a regulatory role at SSE.
